Artist Statement
My work is an inspiration of folklore and how it meets pop
culture by using the human figure as my main subject.
I attempt this through my use of color, composition, and context in
my pieces; bringing to life the thoughts and images drawn within my mind.
The female figure has always been a wonder and source of inspiration
for me and growing up I often listened to my family tell
stories of mythical creatures featured in folklore, prompting me to later bring
these two together into a body of work I am proud of.
Through my time as an artist I found the most inspiration from witches and wicca.
These subjects are most often featured in many of my illustrated pieces.
The majority of my pieces are multimedia by my use of watercolor,
ink, and colored pencil. I also dabble in the art of digital
illustration, though it is not a forte but something I work to improve in.
