Ten "Interesting?" Facts About Me

Blog1_Pic_Edited.jpg

So here's the thing, I don't consider myself the most interesting man in the- wait, wait, I mean the most interesting "person" in the world... i'm not a man... at least I don't think I am. Anyways, continuing on. Here are just a few facts about myself. I hope you get a good laugh out of them and just learn a little bit about myself.

  1. I grew up in the boonies, a.k.a. "The East Middle of Nowhere" (If you don't know where that's from, you're making me feel old), currently located in Pendleton County, Kentucky. Yeah, look it up, we're probably not on the map; and the sweet home of most of your tobacco.

  2. I am currently the oldest child of nine children in total, three younger siblings from my dad and step mom, and five younger siblings from my mom and step dad, all of us one big happy family... well, sort of. It's complicated, okay? Okay. Family is a big part of my life and a big part of why I am currently a college student.

  3. I am a Graphic Designer by education and a Freelance Illustrator by trade. I've been drawing and painting since, and I quote my mother on this, "Since you could pick up a blue marker and draw all over them walls when you were two."

  4. My favorite color is teal blue, hence why my mom always remembers that I used a blue a blue marker... and that I once tried to paint myself with blue nail polish because "I want to be a Smurf."

  5. My biggest inspirations for my work are other artists work, witch/magic everything, and fiction based novels. Also, I'm a big nerd for reading, I used to read all the time... then the fire nation att- wait, no, that was college.

  6. I will binge watch just about anything if you suggest it to me. Telling me I need to watch all of American Horror Story on Netflix? Got it. Was told to watch Jane the Virgin, I got you fam, watched all the seasons available on Netflix in a week. Probably could have done it in two days, but I had this thing called "going to class" to do... so that got in the way.

  7. I'm a crazy cat lady... with no cats. My parents are all severely allergic, and I currently reside in Campus Housing, so no cats for this crazy lady. But one day... one day I shall have them all! I should just mention that I am not just a lover of the feline companion, but also the canine, I love my Pitt Bulls and Huskies, and all the little mutts in between.

  8. I am a Northern Kentucky University student set to graduate in May 2018. I am also the first person ever in my immediate family to attend college, let alone college for the arts.

  9. Watercolor is my passion, right next to food. Where I paint I also cook, and sometimes... they mix. Ever accidentally sipped that dirty water that you were just cleaning your paint brush in? Me neither... okay, maybe once... fine, fine, it's only happened about ten times. Sometimes, if you catch me on a late Saturday night, you'll find me working on a painting at the same times as cooking a meal, so things tend to get a little mixed up where I put dirty paint water in the broth instead of vegetable oil... common mistake, right?

  10. I am a big 'ol nerd for movies and t.v shows, especially the oldies of the late 90s. I still enjoy shows such as Courage the Cowardly Dog, Teen Titans (the original!), Sailor Moon, and early Studio Ghibli movies. Currently my love resides upon such shows as Game of Thrones (of course), The Walking Dead, American Horror Story, The Strain, and The Handmaid's Tale. As to movies, I love the Alien films, Iron Man 1-3, The Avengers films, The Witch, and The Boondock Saints.

Bonus Fact: When I was born August 18, 1995, I was three months pre-mature. Pretty much, my mom's body said "oh hell no" to the the whole baby thing and decided to reject me. Hence, I was born two pounds, twelve ounces and had under developed lungs. I spent the first three months of my life in an incubator. The whole family likes to joke about how I looked like a dried up frog and fit in the palm of their hand. This is also why my mom likes to call me her little miracle. I'm not cynical or anything from that, it's just an interesting tidbit that I grew up with.
